Government claims there is no mugs shortage, so do not panic buy

The Government today insisted there was absolutely no shortage of Suffolk Gazette mugs, and urged shoppers not to panic buy.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said the ceramic mug supply chain was strong and COVID/Brexit/lack of HGV drivers were not having an impact.

But many do not believe a word he says and are busy getting their orders in from now. Some have even started their Christmas shopping as they don’t want to miss out.

Lorraine Fisher, 34, marketing director of, which supplies the Suffolk Gazette’s mugs, said: “There is currently no shortage of ceramic mugs.

“If everyone orders as normal, then fine. But if there is panic buying, that would be great.”

Buy mugs now, beat the queues before it’s too late. DON’T PANIC!
