5 spare room ideas that aren’t a guest bedroom

0

There are so many benefits to having a second bedroom or spare room. For those that like to hoard a lot of stuff,  a spare room can provide essential storage space. However, for those thinking more about the future, a spare bedroom is said to add approximately 15% of value to a property, according to experts at Pure Property Finance.

Most people that have a spare room will automatically make it into a guest bedroom. However, realistically, how many people regularly use that bedroom? Is it going to waste?

Here are five suggestions on things that you could do with your spare room that isn’t an extra bedroom.

Office

Many people have switched to a hybrid way of working in the past year due to the pandemic or may have even switched to working from home completely. Separating your home life from your work life is really important, as it’ll mean you can keep distractions away from your work (TV, cooking, playing video games, etc.)

There’s more information here on how to create the most idyllic office space, including what chair to get, what lighting to use, what types of equipment you need and how to prevent eye strain and backache.

Dressing room

A lot of people use their spare rooms as dressing rooms for several reasons. One reason is that a lot of young girls dream of having a Carrie Bradshaw-like wardrobe when they’re older, and another being that it keeps clothes and shoes away from the bedroom, meaning there’s less chance that the main bedroom will be cluttered.

There’s a cool dressing table from Happy Beds that will slot into the corner of the dressing room, which could potentially save you quite a bit of space for other things like cupboards and chests of drawers.

Gym

While this isn’t up to everyone’s taste, some may find that using their spare room for fitness and wellbeing is a great utilisation. Those that are into weights and weightlifting could install a mat and weights bar, and those that are into improving their cardio could potentially benefit from a spin bike or treadmill depending on the size of the room.

Utility room

Keeping things like the washing machine and tumble drier out of the way will create space in other important rooms. Depending on the cost, you could even move something as large as the boiler from one room to another so that it clears out an entire bedroom cupboard. Myles Robinson, the founder of Compare Boiler Quotes, has previously mentioned that moving a boiler could cost anywhere between £400 and £800, so you need to decide if it’s worth doing.

Relaxation and TV room

Ever fight with your partner over who gets to choose the TV show? Love Island is often on at the same time as the football, which causes a lot of problems in most households, we’re sure. So, why not create another TV room? That way, there will be no arguments! As well as setting it up as a TV room, maybe add a bookcase in there as well as some nice smelling candles, a comfortable chair and some plants to turn it into a relaxed reading room.

Dominic Raab calls RAF to coordinate safe return of holidaying Government officials

0

Dominic Raab today took personal control of the emergency return of Government ministers and officials from holiday.

The Foreign Secretary showed his hands-on approach in a crisis in a photograph randomly taken in his office today.

Mr Raab was keen to get ministers safely back from boutique hotels in the Mediterranean and elsewhere, just in case a completely unforeseen event blew up in a foreign country and required their attention.

“You never know what might happen in an uncertain world,” said a spokesperson for Mr Raab’s office.

“Just to be on the safe side, the Foreign Secretary was today on the phone to the RAF ensuring ministers were rescued from their hellhole, first-class vacations and safely brought back to the UK.”

RAF spokesperson Wing Commander Lorraine Fisher, 34, said: “There are hundreds of ministers desperately trying to get back before anyone notices they had sneaked off for some sunshine.

“We have the logistic expertise to get everyone back before anyone notices.”

Guide to this year’s St Leger favourites

0
Galileo Chrome wins the St Leger last year

The final English Classic race of 2021 takes place at Doncaster on Saturday, September 11. The St Leger is run over a mile and six furlongs and Hurricane Lane is the hot favourite to win the race. Let’s take a look at the leading contenders for this race.

Hurricane Lane

The favourite to win the St Leger is trained by Charlie Appelby and owned by Godolphin. This horse was sired by the legendary Frankel but is its dam that is important here. That’s because Gale Force was a winner over long distances and that’s a key factor for the St Leger. Seeing out the 14 furlongs is so important in this race, but this runner shouldn’t have any stamina problems.

Hurricane Lane has won five out of six races, the only defeat being when finishing third in the 2021 Epsom Derby. Both of his front shoes came off in that race, so the poor run can be excused. Since that defeat, Hurricane Lane has won the Irish Derby and the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp. The ground is always an important factor, and this runner has had successes on good ground but also very soft and heavy, so a few rainy days won’t be a concern at all.

Adayar

Hurricane Lane’s only defeat came in the Epsom Derby, and it was Adayar who was the winner that day. It wasn’t a win that was expected but he has followed up that win with success in the Group 1 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes at Ascot. Mishriff finished second in that race and has since won a Group 1 race at York.

Adayar is also trained by Charlie Appelby, and it will be interesting to see which of his runners will have William Buick on board as he rode Hurricane Lane in the Epsom Derby. Can Adayar be as effective over this longer distance as he has been over a mile and a half? Looking at his pedigree, there has to be doubts over this being the case. Not since 1987 has a horse won the Epsom Derby and the St Leger in the same season.

Hurricane Lane and Adayar would be good picks for an accumulator. It’s thrilling if all your selections are winners, leaving just one to be successful. There will be some good odds available for the St Leger so including this race would be interesting. It’s good to read some information about backing racing accumulators to increase your chances of winning.

Galileo Chrome wins last year’s St Leger

Ottoman Emperor

Trained by Johnny Murtagh, Ottoman Empire is yet to taste defeat on turf. All four of his races have been won, the most recent being a Group 3 success at Glorious Goodwood. This is a big step up in class though for a horse that won a handicap race at Gowran Park in June. His trainer believes that his runner has a live chance of winning this classic but is probably best to be backed each way.

Mojo Star

This Richard Hanon-trained runner finished second behind Adayar in the Epsom Derby. Since then, he’s finished fifth nine and a half lengths behind Hurricane Lane in the Irish Derby but was hampered in that race. Mojo Star won his first ever race last time out at Newbury in a Class 3 maiden stakes, a level way below this Group 1 race. Seeing out the distance isn’t entirely certain but could be a good each-way bet.

Sir Lucan

Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien has won this race five times. He has plenty of entries this year. Sir Lucan could be the one that improves over this longer distance. Last time out, he finished fourth in the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York this week. That was run over 12 furlongs and he put in a strong performance towards the end of the race. More favourable evidence is a win over 11 furlongs earlier this year, so lasting out an extra furlong looks more than likely.

Wordsworth

Wordsworth is another O’Brien runner. He was second in that 11-furlong race won by his stablemate Sir Lucan but only lost by a neck. Travelling an extra furlong looks possible but Sir Lucan looks the better prospect and has been beaten by other leading contenders mentioned in this article.

This is the oldest classic and was first run in 1776. Another exciting race looks likely this year, so make sure you don’t miss the St Leger on Saturday September 11.

Horses going out of their way to impress champion Blackmore

0

This year, Rachael Blackmore famously etched her place into the history of horse racing by becoming the first female jockey to win the Grand National. She also claimed the prestigious Champion Hurdle crown at Cheltenham Festival and only narrowly missed out on winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup on A Plus Tard as Minella Indo won the race.

Unfortunately, when you become the golden girl of the sport, every horse in the paddock now wants to pair up with Blackmore for the 2021/22 season. It’s not quite Love Island, and she won’t be pulled for a horrendously cheesy chat by the fire pit, but the horses in the paddock will be doing their utmost to prove that they’re worthy of riding with Blackmore with the lure of the top prizes in the National Hunt on offer in the next campaign.

If you bet on horse racing you’ll know that Minella Times is already one of the leading contenders to repeat his success of last season, aiming to join a select company of competitors to win back-to-back Nationals. Minella Times already has a headstart on many of his rivals in attempting to lure Blackmore in the saddle for the Grand National next season, providing the jockey with a chance to accomplish what few have done in the past to secure back-to-back victories.

Minella Times cannot afford to rest on his laurels after his victory last season. He cannot get comfortable and allow his weight and performance to balloon. He has to keep himself lean and mean ahead of the National in April because Blackmore won’t be short on offers when she herself regains fitness.

One horse that can rule itself out of contention in Blackmore’s good graces is Merry Poppins. Blackmore suffered a serious injury after falling from the horse in Killarney. It’s going to take more than a spoonful of sugar to convince Blackmore to get back in the saddle on Merry Poppins, with the injury requiring surgery. Let’s just hope that the 32-year-old received a lot of flowers and grapes after going under the knife. Hopefully, she can be fit in time for the start of the new campaign.

A Plus Tard has to get himself into shape. Second is not good enough in the eyes of Blackmore after their near-miss at the Gold Cup. She will also want to become the first female jockey to win the signature prize at Cheltenham. A Plus Tard is one of the top contenders in the horse racing predictions to win the Gold Cup in 2022, but Blackmore will want to see more from the charge, especially considering that she had a great relationship with Minella Indo, who won the race last season but was placed into the hands of Jack Kennedy by trainer Henry de Bromhead.

There will be a slew of horses doing their best to impress Blackmore next time she enters De Bromhead’s yard. There will be plenty of charges demanding new shoes and their manes trimmed for her next visit. She is the dominant jockey on the scene at the moment and Blackmore will want to keep it that way next term. The 32-year-old has the pick of the paddock and few will want to disappoint her.

Police warn hikers to think twice before visiting Norfolk pubs

0

By Hugh Dunnett, Crime Correspondent

Hikers seeking refreshment in rural Norfolk are being told to think twice before entering a country pub… in case something terrible happens.

Police are investigating the disappearance of at least four walkers in recent weeks from remote parts of the county that will seem familiar to anyone who has seen the film Deliverance.

Now they are issuing advice to tourists to be wary of seemingly charming old country inns that are probably run by murderers or – at the very least – psychopaths.

Chief Inspector Val Doonican, of Norfolk Police, said: “Think carefully before approaching one of these pubs. Are there other customers inside? Do they seem normal? Look for tell-tale signs like locked outhouses with whimpering noises within.

“If someone is playing the banjo, move on at a brisk pace and don’t look back. Should there be a log pile against the pub, look at the axe or chainsaw for signs of blood.

“If you really do have to go in, don’t enter alone, and always keep an eye on the landlord, who probably has a gun or a massive knife.”

Chief Insp Doonican added that the missing hikers had each contacted home shortly before their disappearance indicating they were looking forward to trying out an isolated country pub.

“It might be a coincidence but we have to keep an open mind,” he warned.

How to increase your home’s worth

0

If you’re thinking about selling your home, whether in the near future or looking at the longer term, you’ve probably asked yourself, “What is my home worth?” If the answer wasn’t what you had hoped, the better news is that there are many ways to increase that figure, sometimes without having to spend a lot in the process. Of course, there are also updates that can be made that may cost quite a bit but the return they provide can make it well worth it.

Get the most for your money by considering these options that are some of the best for raising the value of your home.

Enhance kerb appeal

One of the least expensive ways to increase your home’s worth is to boost curb appeal. It’s an incredibly important factor as the exterior is what potential buyers see first. That means a well-manicured lawn, a yard free of debris, some nice potted plants and flowers, etc. Painting the exterior can make a significant difference too, provided the right color is chosen. According to home improvement guru Bob Vila, the best colours are off-white, yellow, light blue, grey, taupe, putty, blue grey, wheat, green, and white.

The most important thing is that your yard and home’s exterior look neat, so mow the lawn and pull those weeds. If you don’t have the time, hiring a lawn care or landscaping expert usually comes at a fairly low cost. Pay attention to your porch and front door too – if you can’t afford to replace the door, consider painting it.

Update kitchen appliances

A kitchen remodel can significantly increase your home’s value, but it doesn’t come cheap, averaging around $126,000 for a major upscale remodel. But for as little as a few thousand dollars, you might replace older appliances with stainless-steel options. Smart, energy-saving appliances are even better. They’ll make your home greener, helping to save the planet and save on water and electricity bills, appealing to just about any potential homebuyer, with more and more looking for these features in a home.

Make it smarter

Go beyond smart appliances by making your entire home smarter. That includes devices like a smart security system, programmable thermostats that can reduce energy use, smart door locks and even lights. In addition to reducing energy consumption, they all give your home a more updated look that increases perceived value, and ultimately brings higher offers.

Expand it

While it’s the most costly option, a home addition can have the biggest impact on value. For every additional 1,000 square feet added, you can add another 3.3 percent to the listing price according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The more square feet you have, the higher the appraisal is likely to be, and the greater likelihood that potential buyers will be willing to pay more. You might build-out by adding a bedroom or finish an unfinished basement. A bathroom addition is highly desirable too, especially if there is only one current as most people want at least one-and-a-half baths.

Steps to take against the rising number of online scams during Covid 19

0

2020 was a scary year for everyone, full of uncertain times and health paranoia. People have taken many questionable steps out of pure fear to keep themselves safe, regardless of whether these steps were backed up by science. While the coronavirus has been spreading around the world, so too have online scams. People have been so preoccupied with trying to keep their health safe that they’ve opened themselves up to a whole world of online scams.

A rise in online scams

2020 saw a huge rise in reports of scams targeting victims online. Research has found that in 2020 Authorised Push Payment (i.e. when you authorise payment by typing in your details) fraud accounted for £479 million in losses, up 5% from the previous year. However, the good news is that banks were able to return £206.9 million which was over three quarters more than what was returned in 2019. Banks were also able to block £7 out of every £10 of attempted unauthorised fraud, saving £1.6 billion of losses.

Impersonation scams have almost doubled in 2020, which is the largest increase of all scam types. You may have seen emails claiming to be from the government offering support but needing you to sign up with your details, or texts requesting payment before receiving a vaccine.

Another incredibly common scam has seen people receiving fake delivery notification texts from scammers pretending to be Royal Mail or various other parcel delivery companies, attempting to cash in on the rise in online shopping. While you would assume that people would think “but I haven’t ordered anything” and ignore the message, it’s not that simple.

The aim of these scams is to catch people that are actually waiting for deliveries so that they’ll believe it and click on the link without thinking. It’s also an issue for companies or freelancers that sometimes receive packages from clients with no prior notice, such as sample packs. This all leads to delivery notifications being a very effective scam.

It’s easy to get caught out

With a huge surge in the number of scams over the past year, as well as an increase in the variety of different scams, even people that consider themselves tech-savvy are being caught out. Some scams, like paying for a COVID-19 vaccine are meant to prey on the elderly or more naive, but others (particularly delivery scams) are catching out people that thought they were immune having grown up as the smartphone generation. So, how do you avoid getting scammed?

Protecting yourself

First of all, stop and think. It sounds obvious, but if you’re expecting a parcel you’re probably so used to getting texts from the delivery company that you would just click on the link without thinking, and that’s exactly what the scammers want you to do.

First of all, does the text read right? If you can, compare it to previous texts from parcel companies that you know are real. Usually, the delivery notification says what parcel the company is from and will give a time for delivery. Check the number that the text is sent from – parcel companies usually have a shorter number or the text will say “Royal Mail” or “Parcelforce” rather than a number. If it begins in 07 it’s not definitely a scam but it could be. If you’re unsure, check your email to see if you’re due any parcels. If not, ignore the text and don’t click any links.

Email scams have also been on the rise in the past year and are also catching out the tech-savvy generation, simply because they aren’t checking for fraud before clicking the link and logging in. If you receive an email from anyone, whether you think it’s real or not, you should check the address it’s sent from. It should always match the domain of the company it’s claiming to me from – @paypal.com for example. Check for any subtle spelling mistakes like “paypall” Or paypai” because scammers are hoping that you’ll look quickly and assume it’s genuine. If an email ever asks you to log into your account to check something then go directly to the website from your browser and log in, rather than clicking a link in an email.

Always double check before you go ahead

If you’re planning on using a new website or online service and you need to enter in any of your personal details, always check they’re legit before you go ahead. It can be easy to assume that a website that looks good is the real deal, but realistically it could have been set up by anyone and you don’t want to be sharing your bank details with any service unless you are sure.

Promises of great bonus offers and promotions sound enticing, but you should also check user reviews to confirm the iGaming site you’re using is one that other people have had success with. A quick search on Google or even social media platforms will tell you if people are talking about the service you’re looking to use. People often want to shout out about a bad service or experience they have had so if the website you’re interested in has a dodgy past you’re likely to be able to find people talking about it when you search online.

There’s no doubt that online scams are getting more sophisticated and harder to tell apart from genuine emails or texts. No matter how convinced you are that it’s a genuine email, you should always stop and think for a second. Does the email address look right? Does it read as you would expect it to? Is your gut telling you that something isn’t quite right? Scammers are getting better at what they do but it is possible to avoid them fairly easily, just as long as you don’t click on anything or hand over details without looking.

Is now the right time to pursue a post-master’s degree in healthcare?

0

Living through a trio of lockdowns has done more than enough to convince some professionals that re-evaluating their career choices is the best way to move forward.

For many, this means pursuing a more meaningful role, one that offers them purpose, helps their fellow human beings or generally serves to make modern society a better place to be.

The search for a meaningful career is not particularly easy, nor is switching directions in the first place when considering the time that it takes to become comfortable in a new job, and not everyone has the financial backing to do so.

If this is starting to sound painfully familiar, and you, too, are on the hunt for a new beginning, returning to education could be a good move. Being the owner of a master’s degree can be somewhat distressing if you cannot seem to find the right job for you, but there is no need to panic, as you have already set yourself up for some superb opportunities, possibly without even knowing it yet.

If it was indeed the meaning and purpose you were after, the wonderful world of healthcare could be perfect for you. Whether you are already a healthcare professional looking to take your career in an exciting new direction, or this is the very first time considering it, here are some reasons why the ideal moment might be right now.

Roles to consider

Some of the highest paying roles in healthcare are accessed via a post-master’s degree, although in many instances, the money is a secondary bonus when compared to the critical and indispensable work that healthcare professionals carry out on an everyday basis.

Many of these roles are in high demand throughout the UK, so if you truly wanted to make a difference, a positive impact that took some pressure off healthcare professionals everywhere, education might be your way in.

You may want to take a look at some incredibly interesting and fulfilling roles that a post-master’s degree might be able to net you, as this could sway your ultimate decision. For example, a family nurse practitioner can be an immensely rewarding role, and moreover, great institutions like Carson-Newman University offer affordable and top-quality FNP post-master’s programs on a completely online basis.

The role of an FNP might be ideal for anyone who wishes to offer support to families throughout their lives while working in a growing field and forming important, lifelong bonds with extraordinary individuals.

Alongside offering direct medical assistance to families who need it, the role of an FNP requires a great deal of person-centred skills to undertake, such as emotional intelligence, communication, compassion, and understanding, making it a brilliant mix of responsibilities that anyone who enjoys working closely with others will no doubt find fulfilling.

Accessibility

Remote working, learning, socialising, and just about everything has to buck its ideas up to cater for the mass transition to the digital world, which is great news for anyone hoping to pursue a degree.

Some of the best degrees from highly reputable universities are now completely online, including healthcare options. Not only are they completely online, but the quality of the courses themselves do not have to suffer in any way since they have striven to achieve the best possible standard in light of the circumstances.

For many, this is a much better option than ever physically going to university in the first place, especially for professionals who have already made the most of their partying days and are looking for a more mature approach to education.

This level of accessibility makes taking classes from anywhere an option, and in the majority of cases, in your own time.

Since remote working and learning looks set to stay for good, at least in some capacity, putting off your vision of further education may be counter-intuitive, as this could play a role in the future of learning regardless of the pandemic.

The search for meaningful work

Feeling as though you are stuck in a stagnant job with no prospects or room to grow and develop your professional and personal skills can be an awful experience.

This can lead to some nasty side effects if left to remain unchecked, such as mental health issues, including depression. In light of the pandemic, this might be a more prevalent issue than ever before, so proactively taking steps to avoid it is a must.

This situation is not always easy to predict, especially for the busiest workers amongst you, so preparing yourself through a return to education may be the best way to unlock new doors that you may not have seen before.

The search for meaningful work can take dedication, tenacity, and integrity, traits that healthcare professionals everywhere utilise as part of their daily routine.

Some of the most fulfilling elements of a healthcare career might include:

  • The Chance to Help Others – Now more than ever, taking an altruistic approach to life is an undertaking that many are considering, so what better place to start than in the world of healthcare?
  • Changing Lives for the Better – The opportunity to make a positive impact on someone’s life, to be part of a movement and a purpose that is greater than just work and money, to give back to society and help provide the foundations of a nation can be a profoundly unique and fulfilling experience.
  • Developing the Healthcare System – For those of you who already work in healthcare and are looking to get to the next level, the chance to make significant changes and grow alongside the system itself might be the ideal journey to embark on with a post-master’s certificate. This might mean becoming a researcher, an advanced clinical practitioner, or a nurse educator, for example.

 Work and learn

There is no need to give up your current job to get your new qualification just yet; in fact, your current position will likely benefit from your new learning endeavour.

Thanks to online education, you can complete your course at a time that best suits you. This flexibility is perhaps one of the main reasons practicing professionals decide to turn to the digital world in the first place.

Alongside the convenience factor, the chance to learn as you work can allow you to apply your new knowledge directly, in a practical and immediate sense, a luxury that many students no doubt wish they could have experienced before sticking out the entirety of their course.

At a time when job markets seem fairly uncertain, taking advantage of every digital opportunity that arises is probably a good way to prepare yourself for the future while keeping your current job safe.

Supporting the future of healthcare

For healthcare to flourish and continue to do so well into the future, a new generation of professionals needs to be inspired to take up careers.

Not only does this new generation need to be inspired, but in order to make sure that they are able to do the best job possible, they need to have the right level of training, direction, support, and education.

The number of yearly nursing applications rose to 48,830 in 2021, which is, of course, fantastic for the UK’s aims to reduce the nursing shortage, but this figure may also suggest that work needs to be done if these hopeful healthcare professionals are to be sufficiently trained and integrated into an effective system in the future.

If you do decide to go for a post-master’s degree in healthcare, this responsibility could fall upon your shoulders. Depending on the nature of your existing master’s degree, you might already possess the traits and skills needed to find a fulfilling career in securing and supporting the future of healthcare.

The chance to become a leader

Even if you feel you are a natural-born leader and have the awareness, drive, ambition, decision-making ability, and strength to work under high-pressure environments, unfortunately, and somewhat frustratingly, this is not always enough.

A post-master’s qualification could be all that stands between you and the next stage of your career, one in which you are a leader that thrives on responsibility, communication, and the ability to offer tangible results in a vital field of work.

Leaders are, in fact, made by their environment, their training, experiences, and education, so it is never too late to start preparing yourself to make the leap. Striving to keep learning throughout life is often merely just a part of what makes someone a well-rounded, diverse, and sought-after professional, so returning to university, even in a virtual capacity, should always be worth your consideration.

The role of a leader in the world of healthcare is extremely varied, full of opportunities to progress, and crucial to the integrity of the system as a whole. In a time of uncertain futures, healthcare leaders are irreplaceable and highly respected. You will no doubt learn this throughout your time spent on the post-master’s certificate, along with a wealth of other important lessons, such as:

  • Autonomy and Decision-Making – Although working in healthcare means working as a team, making potentially life-saving decision as an individual in the heat of the moment is fairly commonplace. If you are already a healthcare professional, you will likely be all-too-aware of this. Learning to improve upon this decision-making ability is a lifelong journey in healthcare, one that you will be able to expand upon in great detail while studying a post-master’s degree.
  • Making Sure the Highest Standard of Care is Being Delivered – Everyone deserves to be treated equally, and in their time of need, they should all receive the highest possible standard of treatment available. As a leader, it will be your job to make sure that this happens.
  • Support Your Fellow Staff Members Soft skills such as communication, organization, empathy, and adaptability are crucial in healthcare, so learning how to utilise them to support your fellow staff members can make everyone’s lives much easier throughout the day.

A great career switch

To some, switching careers can seem like an impossible feat, particularly if they possess a degree in a totally unrelated field to medicine or healthcare in general.

This is fact, not the case, as many degrees, especially science-based ones, will be more than enough to at least get the ball rolling.

Switching careers to healthcare in the final hours of a pandemic may seem counter-intuitive, but it may be the best way to get yourself into a perfect position for a bright future, thus giving yourself what is essentially a head start.

This could be particularly relevant for in-demand industries such as healthcare. Think of all of the other people who might be waiting until the pandemic is long gone to make their switch. It could be worth skipping the theoretical queue and pursuing an online degree sooner rather than later for this very reason.

If you happen to have a master’s degree in a subject that seems totally unrelated, there are still plenty of chances for you to start your journey in healthcare. Feeling as though you are disconnected from your undergraduate degree is totally normal and even quite common, so switching disciplines should not need to worry you.

It is never too late to start learning, so there is no need to worry about getting too old; the world of healthcare will always be here, hopefully.

For the sake of the patient

When news headlines stupefy and dismay with messages that scrutinize the healthcare industry, it can be easy to forget about the factor that matters most, the plight of the individual patient, their families, and their need for treatment and support.

Pursuing a post-master’s degree in healthcare can help you work on exactly this factor, the chance to offer better care to those who need it most. Whether this is through working as a clinical nurse practitioner, an FNP, a nurse educator, a hospital administrator, a nurse anaesthetist, or any role that you might imagine, at the heart of the job are the patients and your fellow staff members.
