IPSWICH – Residents of a quiet suburban street in Ipswich, Suffolk, have been left questioning their knowledge of the English language after an escalating parking disagreement culminated in what experts are calling “one of the boldest assaults on grammar in recent memory.”

The incident began when a motorist returned to discover a handwritten note tucked beneath their windscreen wiper. Rather than politely requesting more considerate parking, the anonymous author embarked on an ambitious campaign against spelling, punctuation and basic sentence structure.

The note read: “You’re Car is to close to my HOUSE! There is better spots. I will have you toad! Try me! You will Loose” (sic).

Neighbours say the vehicle had been legally parked on the public highway, several feet from the complainant’s property, following what witnesses described as a “minor and entirely unremarkable” parking arrangement.

Going through a bad spell

Local residents have since spent considerably longer analysing the choice of words than the parking itself.

“I’ve counted at least six mistakes in five short sentences,” said one neighbour. “I wasn’t sure whether I’d lose my car, contract acne, or be turned into a toad. None of those outcomes seemed especially likely.”

The mystery writer is believed to have intended to threaten having the vehicle towed, although several residents suggested the prospect of being transformed into a common garden amphibian would have represented the more imaginative punishment.

As peace returned to the street, residents agreed the parking issue would eventually be forgotten. The note, however, has already secured an honoured place in local folklore, serving as a timeless reminder that road rage or ‘rowed raige’ should be avoided at all costs .
