Southwold staycation costs slashed to bargain £15,000 a night

Kindly holiday rental property owners are dropping prices so that hard-up Brits can enjoy a staycation on the Suffolk coast.

Prices for one-bedroom accommodation in the posh seaside town of Southwold are now down to a bargain-basement of £15,000 a night.

And if you thought that was cheap, a survey by Suffolk Gazette staff found a two-bedroom apartment just outside Aldeburgh on offer for just £12,000 a night.

That’s almost giving it away.

Property tycoon Lorraine Fisher, 34, who owns a tiny terraced property in Southwold, said bringing down prices was the least she could do for Brits who decide to stay in the UK rather than take on the pressure of trying to get through a UK airport.

“It made me realise how lucky I am to have a second home in Southwold,” squealed Lorraine.

“These poor people have not been able to holiday abroad for while, so it’s time I did my bit to help out.

“I have now reduced the price on my one-bedroom home to just £15,000 a night.

“There is even a reduction if you book up for ten nights – it will be £148,000 rather than £150,000.

Southwold holiday

“If everyone was as kindly as me, the country would be in a much better place.”

Pretty Suffolk coastal resorts like Southwold, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Orford are hugely popular with holidaymakers who often have more money than sense.

For the rest of us, you can still get a four-bedroom house in Lowestoft for a tenner a night.
